You are executed, come dawn. An elegant funeral is held in honor of the princess that you killed. Han is the only one to mourn your death.
He leaves the Rebels, to pay off his debt to Jabba. Though Jabba accepts the late payment, only a few months later, Han will find himself in more trouble with the Hutt - and this time around, Jabba isn't as forgiving.
Due to the death of the princess, and the departure of Han, Luke soon loses faith in the Rebel Alliance, and sets off on a doomed mission to kill Vader.
The Rebels lose the war, ultimately.
