You daftly hand the plastic cup off to kid dancing all alone who unintentionally accepts.
Katelyn looks genuinely hurt and upset. "Why the hell did you do that? Do you know what I did to get that stuff? We could have had a good time tonight and you went and ruined it!"
"Listen Katelyn, we don't need to be wasted to have a good time." You inform Katelyn who now seems on the verge of tears. You're unsure of how you can turn the situation around without also upsetting Amanda. As if Amanda has read your mind she begins to run her hand up and down your back.
You take this as a cue. You pull Katelyn close to you and wrap your arms around her in a hug. "I don't need to be drunk to have a good time with you Katelyn." You kiss her cheek as a tear rolls down it. Then you kiss her on the lips, hard. Katelyn moans and kisses back. You embrace each other for several minutes.
When the two of you seperate Katelyn seems to be in high spirits again. In fact Katelyn's eyes have a glow to them you never noticed before. Perhaps an almost admiration for you. You feel Amanda wrap her arms around you and rest her head on your back.
"Thanks.." Katelyn shly smiles and wraps her arms around you and Amanda.
After a while the three of you start to dance again. Though this time Katelyn isn't as sexually aggressive. When you all get tired, you sit down and chat the rest of the night away. As you are about to leave Katelyn holds you back. "You are a wonderful person Matt. When Amanda told me the two of you were dating I couldn't believe it. Mattie the little runt.." Katelyn seems apologetic after calling you a runt. ".. but she kept telling me what a great guy you are and I haven't had a great guy myself. I guess what I'm trying to say is Amanda is lucky to have you as a boyfriend. Anyway, since I'll be going to school with you guys this year I'll make sure no one tries anything funny with her. You have my promise."
Though the remainder of summer vacation is pretty uneventful you can't help but feel proud of the choices you have made so far. Amanda is absolutely adores you and it seems her cousin Katelyn deeply respects you.
