You dig in your bag for the knife

From Create Your Own Story

You hear the light cry for help, but you're not about to move another inch without at least something to defend yourself with. You rip open your backpack, looking for the knife, but find something even better: a metal canister of bug spray and your lighter. When you glance up again the blob has begun to take on a humanoid form... if humans were two feet tall, had feet like greasy, hairy fish, stumpy arms and were as round as they were tall, that is. As a deformed and blistered face begins to emerge from the pulsing blob you press the spray button and light the stream as you try to inch your away around the thing toward the web. Fire shoots from the spray canister and the blob stops growing, instead screeching in pain and backing away on its scaly, paddle-like feet. With a final roar of pain and fury it vanishes, leaving a stinking cloud of green gas behind it. You drop the lighter and can of bug repellent, dumbfounded. Your omelet this morning - had those mushrooms been from the store? Or maybe... Your bemused thoughts are interrupted by tinkling of the thing in the web, which had quieted during your assault on the monster, but now resumes with a softer tone. "Well done, sorcerer. You are indeed powerful. Now... if you would be so kind as to free me?" You turn and find yourself face-to-face with what could only be called a fairy. At a distance, its light had made its form impossible to see. But now you can clearly make out her tiny female body, silken, golden wings, and comical antenna sprouting from her forehead. Huh.
