You gesture for War to come over. He joins you outside the bathroom, and the two of you wait.

Kaya emerges a few minutes later. You signal with your eyes, and War gently takes her arm.

"Come," he says, leading her away.

You nod at War, and he smiles at you. Your job here is done.

You head back out and head home, sifting through Gayle's memories. Her 18th birthday was 2 weeks ago. She's a senior and captain of the women's cross-country team.

The next day, you head for school.
