The Story:

You decide to choose the green glyph. The blue one disappears and the green glyph glows brightly summoning your next challenge in the temple. The glow of the glyph feels dark and the undead theme doesn't disappear. You choose the difficult challenge. You hiss and slowly move back up the hill as all the zombies you slayed start to slowly merge together, resummoning from where they fell. You know you don't have the same opportunity to strike first and fast so you instead walk back slowly trying to take stock of the situation. You can only watch on in horror as the zombies slowly merge into two massive abominations, two zombie ogres standing at the bottom of the hill. These will be tough opponents, you are sure of it.

With a wailing hiss the first one charges while the other one's mouth gapes with a horrendous roar sending a spray of poisoned darts your way ahead of the other. You quickly bring up your magical bracers deflecting the darts away just in time to bring your sword up and block a massive swing from the charging undead ogre. The force of the blow is too strong, even with your strength, and you get sent flying across the hill rolling hard. Your damage resistance dampens the blow significantly and you quickly jump back up to barely raise your bracers again as the charging ogre doesn't follow and instead sprays you with poison darts from its gaping maw like the first.

You cry out in alarm as tentacles from the one standing at the base grab your stomach and you get reeled in hard. At the last second you cut yourself free then drop and roll under the ogre as its deadly maw chops forward trying to take off your head. You rise up on the other side of the ogre and deal two massive blows to its back before leaping away as it swings hard turning around with a massive arm. You find the other ogre charging you and feint one direction then leap the other barely dodging the massive undead creature. Tentacles shoot out of it regardless striking your heavy armor with oozing and piercing shots knocking holes in even your heavy armor, yet saving you the blow.

Cursing you try to move away but the two ogres push you back against the wall swinging with massive fists and arms while tentacles with dagger-like-ends coated in poison strike at you repeatedly behind the blows. Screaming to raise your morale you lash forward with a series of powerful attacks cutting away the tentacles while taking others before landing several powerful blows against the undead ogre armor. After dealing massive damage you feel your heavy armor slowly fall off of you, destroyed by the acid and constant puncture wounds.

You leap away raising your bracers as both ogres this time open their maws to spray you with poison barbs which you barely manage to deflect. A few manage to graze you poisoning you to your dismay. You slowly walk circles around the undead ogres, much quickly now that your armor is gone. You weave and bob between their mighty attacks and slice away the tentacles striking at you much more wary. You know a single blow from them could end you. The undead ogres are just too slow, but one finally manages to slam you to the ground with a mighty swing of his fist just as you finally finish him, the undead ogre unsummoning just as he raises his fists to end you. You feel your hitpoints fading, you are down to just a single hitpoint.

The other ogre charges in roaring and spewing poison barbs everywhere and you desperately raise your bracers on the ground and deflect them all. You feel the poison draining you of health and dodge to the side when the ogre tries to finish you. Standing up you make a mighty leap at the ogre hoping to finish it with a final attack as the poison drains you to the smallest of hitpoints. The ogre tries to spew more barbs but you raise your bracers who deflect so much they are finally shattered against your arms with the last of the barbs. Your final blow strikes through as you summon all of your strength and with one mighty blow you take off the undead ogre's head, no small feat.

As you hit the ground you collapse, breathing hard before falling to your knees coughing as the poison takes hold of you. And yet, you feel stronger as the experience washes over you in your horribly weakened state. You gain Level 5 and gain a use of Iron Skin again. Not only that but you gain the powerful ability Whirlwind Attack. You slowly stand with a moan of pain and look over at your sword slowly dissolving in acid from the undead ogres and curse under your breath. You managed to defeat the undead ogres, but you have no hitpoints and no gear left. The new level won't be worth anything if you lose before you get to use it.

The next two elvish runes appear and you realize this is a monumental choice. If you choose another difficult challenge you will surely get killed or worse. There is just no denying it. You might be in trouble even against an easy challenge. But at least there you have a choice.
