The Story:
You decide to choose the green glyph. The blue one disappears and the green glyph glows brightly summoning your first challenge in the temple. The glow of the glyph feels dark and you feel your heart drop realizing you choose wrong. You choose the difficult challenge. You hear the sound of war drums over the walls striking in an ominous rhythm as something approaches from the swirling black mist under the stone archway. You back up slowly with your sword at the ready anticipating what your opponent could do running out of the archway. As you take a final step back towards the hill three orcs in heavy armor burst from the doorway they run into the room slowly taking their bearings before putting their eyes on you. They have wicked looking blades and heavy armor each with the middle one carrying a large banner with a burning black hand on his back.
Orcs. As an elf, there is nothing you hate more than orcs. Instead of doing what is smart you throw yourself at them in a rage not unlike their own. You'll slay all three of these foul beasts without mercy! You lunge forward straight past the middle two towards the center one with a might elvish battle cry bringing your sword crashing down at his head. The orc dodges at the last moment taking the brunt of the attack across his heavy armor instead and shrugs it off knocking you to the side. You recover quickly and before he can counter you sling you sword back around slashing into the armor at his back sending him flying forward into the other two. With your back to the arch the orcs recover and start pressing you back, all three swords slashing cruel death as they try and surround you.
The orcs are slow in their armor however and just as they manage to pin you into the north west corner of the room you launch up against one wall then another and back flip over the group back to open ground. You are too close to one upon landing and with an orc cry he slashes back cutting through the armor at your hip giving you a nasty wound along your thigh. You stumble back bleeding from the attack and orcs howl eagerly at the fresh blood and charge after you invigorated.
You decide to even the odds and catch the orcs off balance. They are using the fact that they have heavy armor and you don't against you effectively. Just as they arrive you use Iron Skin and step into one of their attacks. Your skin turns into iron and the orc blade clangs uselessly off of your skin as you stab the end of your blade right through the surprised orc's face before ripping your blade free, one orc falling dead.
The other two orcs are instantly wary to you trick, but you don't give them any time to recover. You spring into them shrugging off blow after blow and make them go on the defensive. They use their heavy armor effectively against your attacks but you finally pin one against a boulder as he backs up the hill and pin him to it with a power thrust through a joint in his armor. You get slammed to the ground a moment later as a hard blow strikes your iron head and you crash face first into the dirt. The orc from behind them jumps on you, pinning you to the ground trying to grab your arms. The two of you wrestle down the hill in the dirt, you cursing in elvish as he grabs your face and tries to claw you. Your iron skin holds up and you finally do a reverse head butt against his face crushing it with armor.
Giving a mighty scream you untangle yourself from the dazed orc and spin around lopping off his head with one mighty swing giving a fierce elvish war cry. You kneel there panting as your iron skin fades away, anger and rage slowly diminishing inside you. You hate orcs. The fact that they managed to make you use your iron skin angers you. You bring a hand down to your wound and curse slightly. As the three orcs unsummon you see one of their sets of heavy armor remains and decide to put it on. You don't have iron skin any more and you could use the upgrade. You also feel yourself gain enough experience to gain level two. At least these difficult challenges come with more experience. You then glance over at the elvish runes as they reappear. You decide you really need an easy challenge after getting so worked up against these orcs. Maybe luck will be on your side this time.
