The Story:
You decide to choose the green glyph this time. The blue one disappears and the green glyph glows brightly summoning your next challenge in the temple. The glow of the glyph feels dark and you frown realizing your short-lived luck has run out. You choose the difficult challenge. You hear a mighty roar from the stone archway and immediately leap back in anticipation up the hill. Seconds later a massive ogre steps through the archway and raises a mighty war club as he fixes his eyes upon you. You curse in elvish readying your sword. Why did it have to be an ogre? They are notorious for killing elvish warriors like yourself. While they don't have any armor, such as this one, their skin is hard to pierce or slash and a single good blow from one can be the end of the fight.
As you slowly back up the hill trying to form a battle plan the ogre gives another mighty bellow and charges right up the hill after you. Not having much time to think you feint to the left then roll hard right barely dodging the massive club slamming down towards the direction of your feint. You roll right up to a boulder and immediately charge it, running up it to push off backwards into a back flip as the ogre slams his club back around decimating the boulder behind you. You arc over the ogre who is still slightly down hill of you and slash out with your blade along his shoulder getting a good hit causing the ogre to grunt in pain.
You land down hill of the ogre and look up with wide eyes as the ogre simply turns and kicks a large piece of the broken boulder. The large rock hurtles straight into your chest knocking the wind out of you and sending your soaring back to land on your back hard on the dirt. The ogre bellows in triumph again and charges towards you as you lay there trying to regain your breath. At the last second you roll to the side as the club comes down to squash you into the ground and spring to your feet with another roll as the ogre brings the club around in a horizontal swing barely missing your head. You bring the tumble back around the ogre and score another hit along his back as you circle him. It does good damage but the ogre just spins around still healthy. These difficult challenges are no joke! It is going to take a lot to bring this thing down.
Your nimble feet carry you away from another blow but then you slip trying to back pedal up-hill. It is all the ogre needs as he lunges forward and grabs you with his free hand to simply toss you as hard as he can against the stone wall next to the archway. You hit the wall hard and crumple from the blow, hitting the ground in immense pain. Another blow like that will kill you! The ogre, eager to finish you off, bellows mightily again and charges your way. Knowing now you'll need to use your resources to win, you immediately down your health potion bringing you back up to full strength.
The ogre doesn't expect you to move at full speed when he arrives allowing you to dodge his final blow and tumble through his legs surprising him. Now behind him you active your Surge of Strength knowing you have to end this battle now before you take another blow like that. You slash with your invigorated energy and strength and strike a might blow across the ogre's back. The ogre screams in pain and falls forward against the corner of the room then blindly swings his club back behind him which you manage to dodge. Not about to give the ogre respite you tumble forward as the ogre turns back around and slash his leg hard taking it out from under him. The ogre swings wildly being cornered and brought to his knees and you just barely manage to dodge each blow. With a final burst of adrenaline and your surge of strength you run along the wall and plunge down onto the ogre from above bringing your sword right down through the back of his neck with all your strength.
The ogre dies, slumping forward onto the ground with you on top of him. Such a blow would never have finished him without your surge of strength. You pull your sword from the ogre and step off of it as he starts to unsummon. You feel experience surging through you and gain Level 2. You had to expend your health potion and one of your two abilities to do it though. You look over to the two new elvish runes and hope the next round is easier. You doubt you could take another creature of equal strength without getting hurt.
