Though you have slain many monsters on your own, you are also used to being a leader of men in battles against the unnatural and unholy. You decide to go to the Shepheards, the best hotel in town, to see if there are any soldiers of fortune willing to aid you in your quest. After collecting your luggage from the steamboat, you make your way to the hotel. After getting a room, you stay only long enough to stash your suitcases before heading back downstairs to the lounge.
Glancing around the elegant, finely decorated lounge, you look at the various people seated within, a mixture of elegantly dressed wealthy ladies and gentlemen and a rougher, more practical crowd. Your eyes are drawn to three capable-looking men sitting at a table in the corner, smoking and drinking, who have the look of mercenaries about them.
"Excuse me, gentlemen. Mind if I join you?" You seat yourself at the fourth chair around the table without waiting for an answer.
All three men look up in surprise at the combination of forwardness and a female voice. Upon seeing you, all of their eyes widen at how sexually attractive you are. "We'd be delighted to have you join us, Miss..." begins one man.
"Van Helsing. Anastasia Van Helsing." At that, the men's eyes widen again, obviously recognizing your famous surname.
You briefly explain to them about the mysterious deaths in Cairo, the suspected mummy, and the map to the hidden tomb. "I'm looking for a few brave, strong men to join me. Are you interested?"
"And what would be in it for us?" asks another of the mercenaries.
