The Queen and her brother

From Create Your Own Story

“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” Sansa, Jeyne, and even Arya went silent, turning towards the door as the voice echoed through the empty sept.

Their eyes widened when the Queen, Cersei Lannister, strode into the room, followed closely by her brother, Jamie Lannister. Sansa immediately moved away from Arya, sending her sister a glare before turning her gaze back towards the Lannister twins.

“Little ladies,” Jamie murmured, crossing his arms. Jeyne gave a soft gasp as she raised her hands to cover her blushing cheeks. Being referred to as a ‘lady’ by the most handsome knight that she had ever seen was more than she could handle.

“I am so sorry, my queen,” Sansa murmured, offering the Lannisters a little curtsy with her dirty dress.

Arya’s lips twisted in distaste with the sudden subservience that her companions were showing towards the Lannisters. Queen be damned, the Starks were the Wardens of the North! They were just as important as the Lannisters, if not more! She couldn’t help but glare at the newcomers.

It would be hard for even Arya to say that Jamie wasn’t handsome. However, even though he was one of the greatest swordsmen in the Westeros, he was shuffling from foot to foot, as if he were uneasy. He also kept glancing to and fro, especially in the direction of the door, as if he expected trouble.

Cersei was undeniably beautiful, but the dim light of the sept cast shadows on her face that made her look terrifying and cruel. The queen was looking slightly flushed, even though Arya didn’t remember her drinking much at the party. But when the queen saw Arya glaring at her, Cersei’s lips twisted into a smirk.

“Sisters shouldn’t be fighting like that,” Cersei murmured.

“Of course, my queen,” Sansa and Jeyne curtsied once again.

Arya frowned, looking down. Her father had often said the same thing, but the way Cersei said it, she felt like the queen meant something different. Cersei leaned over and whispered something in Jamie’s ear. His brow scrunched in confusion, but his sister only answered with a smile before turning back towards Arya, Sansa, and Jeyne.

“Why don’t you all kiss and make up?” Cersei suggested.

A small noise of distaste escaped Sansa’s lips, but the tiny sound was swallowed by Arya’s scoff. The sound drew Sansa’s glare and she turned towards her younger sister, almost as if out of spite knowing that Arya didn’t want to apologize.

“Arya, I’m sorry,” Sansa said through gritted teeth.

“Cunt,” Arya whispered under her breath. Apparently, she wasn’t whispering quietly enough because the swear made Jamie raise an eyebrow.

“No,” Cersei murmured. “I didn’t say apologize. I said kiss.”

“What!?” Arya and Sansa exclaimed at the same time.

“But... we’re sisters!” Sansa protested.

“All the more reason,” Cersei grinned, running her hand along Jamie’s chest. “The love between family is the strongest love of all, isn’t it?” The Stark sisters were still, unsure of how to respond. “Do you wish to displease your queen?” Cersei asked, letting the threat hang in the air.

“Come, sister, perhaps they just need a demonstration,” Jamie answered, scanning the young women assembled before him.

What does Cersei decide to do?
