The Cage- Tag Teenage Boy

From Create Your Own Story

He gets up immediately. He doesn't seem worried at all.

"Alright, junior, who's it gonna be?"

"Him," he says, pointing at Brandon.

The Speaker's eyes go wide. "Holy hot damn, son! Looking to put some hair on your chest? You just might. Brandon, is this going to be a duel or a popularity contest between the nerd and the rebel?"

"Duel," comes Brandon's response, along with a chuckle. He stands and walks to the center of the Cage. The teenage boy is already there.

"What's your name, kid?"

"Fuck you."

Oh shit.

"Oh shit. Alright, I think we're ready to go. Three, two, one, FIGHT!"

Brandon roars at the kid. It affects him quite a bit more than it affected the Speaker; he bears his fangs and darts into a corner - far faster than he should have been able to - and stands there, claws up, facing Brandon.

Claws?

Fangs bared, eyes wide - did he just hiss? What the hell is wrong with his hands?

Brandon's mask of rage falters. He is obviously disturbed by what he's looking at. He's never fought an animal before.

The teenage boy senses Brandon's fear, and his own quickly falls away as the threat suddenly doesn't look so tough anymore. That triggers a survival instinct present in every predatory animal to ever walk, swim, or fly the Earth: rage. Attack now. He doesn't think he can win. That means he can't.

More importantly, because others are watching, demonstrate what happens to those who threaten you.

The boy charges Brandon, who throws his hands up in an attempt to deflect the claws that are coming his way. It works, if only because the boy slashes his claws through Brandon's hands instead of, say, his eyes. Another survival mechanism kicks in as Brandon shuts his eyes as tightly as possible and begins blindly flailing at his attacker.

Which wasn't entirely ineffective in and of itself; Brandon is keeping up with the boy's superhuman speed reasonably well, and his random kicks and swipes are forcing the boy to advance, attack, and retreat.

Which suits the boy just fine; no need to risk injury with victory just a few seconds away. The scene resembles a big cat versus a bear with no claws. And the bear doesn't stand a chance.

The claws - how sharp are those things? Brandon's hands and arms are covered in slashes and bleeding. The sight and smell of blood seems to make the boy more aggressive; it's what he wants from his defeated enemy.

That one's easy to understand; you're feeling the same thirst the boy is. And you don't dare challenge him for his meal.

Brandon risks opening his eyes for one final shot at saving his life. He tries to grab the boy by the wrists. As fast as the boy is, Brandon is stronger. He gets the boy's left wrist, leaving the boy's right free to swipe and slash at his left, which he does. Good enough; he cracks the kid in the jaw, momentarily stunning him.

Now he's got the upper hand, and it's the kid's turn to have nothing to lose. He pulls against Brandon's grip, prompting Brandon to pull back. Then he uses that pull, combined with his own supernaturally enhanced speed and free claw, to climb Brandon and sink his fangs into his eyes.

Brandon's roar thunders through the Cage. He pushes the boy away from his face, getting a handful of fang in the process, then pins the boy down and beats him.

Screaming.

After a few horribly violent seconds, the boy goes limp. Eyeless, screaming, bloody Brandon bites the boy's neck and begins feasting.

He's blind, seriously wounded, and not looking.
