Talk to Adrea

From Create Your Own Story

"Adrea, have you ever wished you could just disappear?" you ask.

Adrea looks concerned. "No...Why do you?" she responds.

You try to explain how your life was back home. You tell her that your mother died from an overdose when you were only three years old and your father was never around. She listens as you tell her about your step dads family not wanting anything to do with you and how your aunt allowed you to live with her until you were eighteen. You fill in lightly the parts about having two jobs at a time and never having time for friends. She gasps when you tell her how much money you won and how people didn't start coming around until then.

"It's just sick how people behave," you say. "Once I was flat broke. I didn't have money to pay the electric bill. What little food I had went sour after a few days. My grandmother, who was living off of a large early retirement plan, gave me one loaf of bread and told me it should hold me over. After the money, even she came to visit me. And you know what she brought?" you ask.

"What was it?" says Adrea.

"She brought me a roast dinner!" you exclaim. "You know what else Adrea? I just met you and your friends and you are all nicer to me than the people I have known my whole life."

"Awww thats sweet, Thank you," Adrea tells you as she drapes one arm around you. "Let's snuggle together. You might feel better in the morning."
