Take the other fork and head deeper into the caverns

From Create Your Own Story

You're all the way down here already, and you feel recovered from the bumps on the head you received earlier. May as well get some more exploration in before you call it a day.

You take the right fork, following the curving passage as it heads deeper into the Andes Mountains and the air gets mustier. After several twists and turns, the tunnel abruptly straightens and widens. You shine your flashlight on the walls. This is no longer a natural passage, but one made by the hand of man, hundreds of years ago. Ancient Inca carvings line the rock walls.

Suddenly, you hear a low growl. Whirling, you move your flashlight beam away from the walls and shine it forward deeper into the passage. Something is coming towards you, arms extended. It looks like...a mummy?!

You take aim with your revolver and fire a shot. The bullet impacts the mummy in the center of its forehead. It grunts, but continues advancing. Red beams of light appear from both of the mummy's wrapped hands. The demonic glow envelops you, but you feel nothing. As the red light dissipates, you smile in triumph. The pendant that you are now wearing around your neck worked like a charm, literally.

With a much louder growl, the mummy charges you, reaching out to strangle you. With two swift swings of your sword, you cut off both its arms. The creature snarls and you silence it permanently by cutting its head off. You remember the poor dead explorer. "That was for you," you say out loud.

You carefully shine your flashlight in every direction. There don't seem to be any more mummies, but you never know. You think about what to do next.
