Business comes first.
You lean towards the woman. "I need to use your phone first. My firm is counting on me to find the heir to a large estate, and they don't even know where I am right now or that I've had an accident. I'd use my own phone, but it got smashed up."
The woman leans back and nods. "Of course you do. I suppose this will be an international call, so I'll need adequate compensation."
You had her a few bills, and she hands you the handset.
You dial out, and reach your boss. "Hi, this is Melissa..."
"Where the @$#* have you been?! You were supposed to check in last night when you got to Schlechter Vielfrass!"
"Sorry sir. I was in a car accident."
"You were? Are you alright?"
"I think so. I've seen a doctor, but not in an official hospital. My cell phone's broken, and I'm in a strange town that doesn't have regular automobile traffic."
He swears on the other end. "Well, get yourself checked out, and make sure you're okay, then get back on the case! Let me know when you're back on track."
"I will, sir"
Click. You hang up the phone.
You turn back to the woman. "So, when is the next truck out?"
She thinks. "Mmm..... two days."
"Two days?! I can't wait that long!"
"Well, your only other option is to walk. Or ride. A rich American like you could rent a horse, I'm sure." She winks at you. "So, we have time to talk. What's it like up in the castle?"
