"Katie!" her mom yelled from downstairs.

"What?" Katie yelled back as she grabbed her backpack and left her bedroom.

Katie got down to the main floor and walked across the front entry to the kitchen. Her dad was eating breakfast on the far side of the table while a bowl of her family's new favorite fiber-laden cereal sat waiting for her on the close side. Her mother was over at the kitchen counter getting papers in order. She glanced over her shoulders to see Katie approaching.

"Here take this, you need to hand this into the main office when you go to school today." her mom told her.

"What's it for?" Katie asked curiously.

"I don't know, your dad checked it over and signed off on it though. You should ask him about it." her mom replied.

Katie turned inquisitively towards her dad. He motioned for her to take a seat while he was eating. Katie put her bag down and got to eating her cereal, putting the little envelope on the table beside her.

"So what was it about?" Katie asked just before she took her first bite of the cereal.

"It's something about your recent checkup and that the school needed to be ready for special circumstances - something like that." he explained.

"Special circumstances? Like what?" Katie asked.

"I don't remember, I read over it quickly." he replied.

"Well I don't want to hand it in before we know what's in it!" Katie shot back.

"It's already sealed honey, just take it and go." her mom explained.

Katie begrudgingly let the doctor's note issue lie as it did and ate her cereal. After eating breakfast (with a bit of a stomach ache from the high-fiber foods her parents forced her to eat) she followed her dad out to the garage. Getting in the car, they drove off and headed down the city blocks to her school.
