Serenity never got back up after that last blow from the rat, she was still conscious but lost too much blood to even understand that her body has given up. A puddle of crimson forms from below her. The rat knew that it has won and stops its assault on the poor girl. Drawing her last breath, Serenity closes her eyes and drifts off into darkness.
For many days, Serenity's body lays still. Undisturbed by the rodents that cross her. Day by day, bits of her flesh is picked off from a pest that wanted a quick meal. This continued until she was just a skeleton laying on the stone floor that was stained in red. Not a word was spoken about the young girl who went off into the sewers, not many people knew her and the bounty she had picked up was later claimed by another adventurer who slayed the giant beast of a rat. Her bones were simply in the way of the adventurer and was pushed aside when he was finding a way out to claim his reward. Hopefully, Serenity has found some kind of peace in the afterlife...
