Location: The slums
Making her way to the slums, the poor people of Shunndinn that only have the rags on their backs took notice to Serenity as she passes them by. The road was muddy and the air was a thick stink of excrement. Most houses were run down and are in great need or repairs. Glass windows were shattered and most doors were broken in.
Life here was hard for many people. Those who are born here have very limited choices when it came to a life that has opportunity. Most men enlist to the town guard where they live a slightly better life in the barracks while the women have no choice but to be married to horrible men who are more wealthy and become housewives. There are a few that run away and try to make a life on their own. To become an adventurer or live elsewhere and have better luck someplace else. Either way, it was tough here and Serenity could feel the poverty like it was a stink lurking around.
Crime was also a problem here in the slums. Pickpockets and assaults was the first thing that came to mind to the people living higher up when they thought about the slums. Those who have jobs and try to provide for their families are often big targets for pretty thieves and bandits. Most of the time if they don't pay up, they are killed. The town guards have very little to do to control this mess, they only focus in the areas that are middle or higher class citizens.
Serenity turns into a corner and goes through an alleyway where there is nobody to be found. The stink was getting strong and Serenity could tell that the entrance is near. The gate that leads downwards was the only thing in her way. Serenity had to ready herself for what was to come.
