"I was hoping you'd ask!" your grandfather says with a big grin. He runs around to the passenger's side and hops in.

The time console is self explanatory, just a keypad and screen. You set the date to April 15, 1955 at 10:30 A.M. and reach for the big green "GO!" button. "Hold on a sec." Says your grandfather. "Before we head out, you need to use the 'Landing Zone' function. "What's that?" You ask him. "It serves two purposes. First, it allows you to pick where on the planet you want to end up, and second, it makes sure you are deposited in a clear safe area. You wouldn't want to end up at the bottom of the Pacific or smack dab in the middle of a battle after all." "I hadn't thought of that." you say, suddenly very happy that you invited your grandfather along. With his help you enter the address of the first McDonald's and watch as the computer locks in the coordinates and opens a video feed on the display. "That's the 'Time Window" explains your grandfather. "It shows you a live video feed of the place and time you enter into the computer. You could just sit here and watch history unfold from the safety of the car, and in fact that's exactly what I recommend for viewing wars, plagues, disasters and the like. Otherwise, this display is used for choosing your landing zone." He picks up a little joystick you hadn't noticed before and zooms the camera around to a quiet area behind the old McDonald's building. "Okay, we're all set. Punch it!"
