Dudley is bored by the snake because it doesn't notice him. What's the point of bothering something or someone if they are not bothered? He then walks away to find his next victim. You then approach the snake, talk to it and apologize for Dudley's behavior. The snake acts as if it could understand your every word. "Do you understand me?" You ask the snake. You are curious about the answer. The snake moves its body making a sound. Its answer is "yes!"
