"No thanks," you say.
"Are you sure? It'd be no trouble," one of the paramedics responds.
"I'm sure."
The two paramedics gather up their things and as one of them takes them back to the ambulance the other one holds a clipboard and piece of paper out to you.
"Could you sign this?" he asks, and you peer down at it.
"What is it?"
"It's just a form saying that we offered to take you to the hospital and aren't liable if anything happens because we didn't," he says while reaching into his pocket to take out a pen.
"Alright," you respond and take both the pen and clipboard from him. You sign your name at the bottom in the spot clearly marked for it and hand both objects back.
"Thanks, have a good day," he says, then turns and walks off toward the ambulance where his buddy is already waiting.
With that out of the way, you turn back around and look over the beach to see if there is anyone who may need help. You see a lot of people walking around, lounging, playing in the sand, or swimming but not anyone who screams 'help me!'
You could wait around for something to happen or you could go across the street to catch the next bus. Today is beach day after all, a local holiday. It doesn't give anyone a day off but it offers a few perks like being able to ride the bus for free until the evening hours. Which is good for you considering you don't have any money on you right now.
