"Hey! Little girl!" you call to the child behind Alexis, prompting her to turn around.
The little girl looks up from the object on the ground and to you. She appears to be curious as to what you want.
"Get off the road. Go back to playing on the sidewalk. It is dangerous here," you say, and the little girl looks around. She doesn't seem to agree with you, at least until a loud screech can be heard coming from the end of the street.
You, Alexis, and the little girl look in that direction in time to see a car swerving around the corner and suddenly speeding down the street toward the three of you.
The little girl, now aware of some danger, quickly gets herself to the safety of the sidewalk on the other side of the street. You look to Alexis and consider your options for a moment.
