You aren't content with just saving a little boy, so you muster your strength and charge into the destroyed, burning pizzeria.
Broken glass cracks and breaks under your feet, leaving them bleeding as you search for survivors but you push on through the pain. You quickly locate someone trapped under a table and some debris near the back of the building. It's a miracle he survived considering how close he was to the blast's source. You quickly push, pull, and throw debris off of the table he's under then pull up the table to allow him to squeeze out. Once he's out you help him to his feet, and help him out of the building.
You leave him sitting against a wall, and turn and head back inside. Time itself seems to slow down as you slip back inside, and despite only having had 2 minutes left you're able to make good use of it.
You free and help swimsuit-wearing couple out from their destroyed booth, supporting the man and his injured leg as you take them outside. Next you're able to drag an unconscious woman from another booth before the fire can spread far enough to reach her. In your next, and final run into the building you manage to find Tony, who is still alive, and drag him out from under more debris before getting him to safety.
Mere moments after you've saved Tony, time seems to stop completely. You notice the flames are no longer flickering and spreading inside the building, the pained cries of injured survivors ceases, and nobody around you appears to be moving anymore.
"I gave you as long as I could but I cannot delay the inevitable any longer... I thank you for assisting all those people, but you are out of time," you hear a voice say, coming from a nearby alleyway. You recognize the voice immediately as the one you heard an hour ago when you signed that contract.
You follow the noise to its' source and find some sort of spirit waiting for you in the alleyway. It floats a few feet off of the ground, clad in a white hooded robe with a featureless, black porcelain-like mask where its' face should be. It has no eyes but simply white voids where they should be. Within those white voids you can sense a malevolent force with a deep, burning hatred for you.
"I... I do not know what else to say. You have saved so many lives that the seal on my corrupt, twisted half is now strong enough to last for a very long time. Thank you does not seem to be enough," the spirit says.
"It is, but shouldn't I be alive now?" you ask, remembering the terms of the contract.
"Yes, you should... However..." the spirit says while floating closer to you, "I am not sure if that is what you truly want, and I do not wish to force anything upon you like my other half has done with its' contract. I, instead, present you with a choice: I can fulfill the original agreement and restore you to life, or, I can allow you what you were denied. The chance to pass into the afterlife. Please... think it over, and make your decision wisely."
You consider your options: to live, or to die. Which one do you truly want? You have a tough decision to make.
The End: You have saved the lives of multiple people and helped to trap a malevolent phantom for a long time. Now you must choose life, or the afterlife... but that is another story entirely.
