You're on Church Street. Church St continues to the north. To the east is St John's Church. To the south is the War Memorial.
Aptly named, Church Street is surrounded by churches and other ecclesiastic buildings. Directly east, for example, is St John's Church, a ruined stone structure covered in patchy black mould, where the roof has fallen away in several places. It's surrounded by dense bushes and thorny vines, and its once imposing fence has rusted away entirely in places. This structure looks abandoned for decades. Notably all the stone saints are defaced. Other buildings are less decayed, but still dark and murky, behind locked gates.
The drizzle has slowed into a cloying fog, and everywhere there's the sound of drops falling from facades and statues. To the north, Church St seems better maintained, while the village shifts character to the south, with open areas and run-down shacks.
