You decided that the best thing to do now is to get out of here as soon as possible. You quickly wiped the blood from the stapler onto Clark's suit jacket and got up.
Ok. Just act like everything's normal. You inhaled and exhaled deeply. Just calmly walk out like nothing happened.
You slowly pushed open the door. The middle-aged woman at the receptionist desk cranked her head around to meet your eyes.
"Everything okay, dear?" She raised an eyebrow from behind her reading glasses.
"Oh...yeah. Everything's fine..." You managed to force out a coherent sentence without freaking out. "I...um...just need to go to the bathroom..."
"Down this hall, third door on the left." She shifted her eyes back down to the stack of papers in her hand. Looks like she hasn't detected anything suspicious.
"Okay. Thank you!" You hurried down the hall, and, as soon as the woman is out of sight, you made a quick dash for the exit.
You made it home without incident. But you feel terrible about what you did. Not to mention that the company might call the police on you. What do you do now?
Call the police and tell them what happened.
