You grab the icepack and put it on her shin.

"You know... I really appreciate what you're doing," Emily says, "Is this just to get me on a date with you?"

You pause.

"Yeah, maybe," you say, smiling. "Or maybe I'm just a very helpful person who comes outta nowhere."

"I knew it!" Emily says.

"So... Wanna go?" You look up to her.

"Well... my shin still hurts, so maybe tomorrow?" Emily asks.

"Okay." You hesitate. "So, where do I sleep?"

"What?" She seems confused. "Don't you have a place of your own?"

"Haha, okay I'll go." You wave.
