Pretend to just notice your leg hurting

"Does my father live?" You ask in honest surprise. A guard nods. "Yes m'lord, though I do not know the details." the second guard replies. "I understand. Go to the balcony. I shall attend to my father." you tell them. as you rise your leg gives way and you allow it to throw you off balance and fall to the floor. The guards see you fall and run to your side. "My lord! your leg, its injured!" one guard points to a large red sore caused from the fall earlier. "I must have rolled from bed to quickly." you claim. "Call a servant and then protect the balcony." you order. The guards are quick to comply to your orders, further terrified that they were the cause of harm to you - a crime punishable by death.
Within a few minutes a servant arrives and you bade her to get a healer who arrives quickly and tends to your leg. He mutters apologies that your regular physician was tending your father, and that he was in a serious condition. You have been excused from the investigation due to your injury and your siblings take up the purpose of finding out more about your father and the assassin as you are treated for your injury. Rufo, the head of your fathers guard, comes to your room to find out what happened to you and to give you an update. After learning of the cause of your injury (Presumable cause) he commands the guards sent to your room to leave the castle and not return without the assassins head, or he would instead take theirs. A merciful act to be sure, he just allowed them to escape punishment for treason. Rufo then relates to you how they discovered a dagger and a cloak from a cult they thought that they had wiped out a few years back. You are not eager to remind him you took part in this, as you want to keep their eyes off you as much as possible. And you thank Rufo for his report and send him on his way.
