Waiting turns out to be a good idea, for you see something frog-like peek at you from the top of the door. It gives up trickery and leaps to the opposite end of the room. You race forward and strike at it with your tentacles. It counters by jumping and sticking to the wall, then it springs upon you and starts to slurp up your body.
