Setting your PAD to mask your life signs, you crouch behind a support column near the wall of the station. You then set your goggles to stealth mode. It sounds all fancy, but really it just makes sure the goggles don't make any audible beeping noises when they alert you. Zone also has hidden, retreating into heavy shadows near the tracks. The noise grows louder and is soon clearly the clamor of footsteps. Peeking out ever so slightly, you see several vicious looking humans being led by a striking female. Pirates, you figure.
She seems to be around your age, with long blue hair tied into a ponytail and green eyes. She is wearing a pink jumpsuit and is armed to the teeth with pistols, grenades, various energy devices, and a pulse rifle. No sign of it, but you're almost positive a chick this cool must have a sword hidden in there somewhere. She's easily the most beautiful girl you've ever seen. Granted you've been living on The Raven with nothing but dudes for over a year, but still, pretty smokin'.
She motions for the pirates to halt behind her, glaring at her scanner. You pray that your PAD's disruption signal is fooling it. After a moment she sighs and turns back tot he rest of the cutthroats and nods. "We're clear boss. Only life signs in this tunnel are us. and a few rats."
YES! you think to yourself. My science just beat your science bitch!
Unless, you reason, She's onto me and just called me a rat.
Dismissing your doubt, you lean forward to hear the conversation better.
A seriously sloppy fat guy breaks through the pack of marauders. He waddles his way to the girl in the pink jumpsuit, panting obnoxiously. After briefly looking at the girl's scanner he turns to address the crew. In a voice somewhere between an intimidating bark and the excited grunts of a hungry pig he shouts: "OK MEN." there is a cough. "AND MIRRA," the fat captain adds, rolling his eyes. "YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO. FIND THIS SALVAGE CREW. KILL THE REST OF THEM. LOOK OUT FOR MORE OF THOSE ANDROIDS! OUR EMPLOYERS WILL BE HERE SHORTLY. WHO'S READY TO GET PAID?" The speech is simple, but effective. The other pirates all cheer in unison except for the one he called Mirra. She slips away from the other pirates quickly and disappears into the darkness.
Zone is still out of sight.
