Not Talk to Him

From Create Your Own Story

You decided against talking to Derick. Even though you want to be social and brave, he still is your trainer. You continue talking to your friends about Amethist and Clarity life.

As you and your new friends walk back to your bunk, you see the guy who started calling you a peacefreak glance at you, before continue talking with his other friends. "That's Joe Parkson, an Erudite-transferred initiate. The girl to his left is Jessica Qwinson, Erudite transferred as well. The guy to his left is Don Mikell, Clarity transferred initiate." Mindy says, sounding particularly annoyed with them. "I heard that Joe learnt how to fight since he was six years old. The only reason Jessica came is to try and get together with him, but she isn't weak. She's quite fit." Cynthia continued, looking at me and Jacob. You walk towards your bed and Jacob climbs to the upper bed.

You fall asleep.

"Rise and shine, you guys have 10 minutes to prepare and then we'll start training." Derick shouts, before walking towards the training room. The training room is a large hall, each side is something to train muscles and agility. At the middle of the room, is a boxing ring, where two people will be pit against each other. There's a chart to the left of the ring that shows who will be fighting against each other. You start to prepare and walk towards the training room alone.

"So how did you sleep?" Jacob ask, yawning. "Fine, nothing special," you reply, stretching. "There will be two groups of people, the first group will use the punching bag while the other will start with the gun training. If you hear your name, you're on the first group." Derick says, with his monotonous voice. "Alissa, Shanice... Joe, James. All those called will do the punching bag first. These will be your permanent grouping. You may see the chart later to see who you'll be pit against." You look towards Joe, who doesn't look at you. But you can see that he glance at you every so often. "Are you going to be fine with Joe, or do you want me to switch you with someone else?" Derick asks, standing in front of you. You get shocked, and turn to face him. "No, I'll be fine." You reply weakly, and he walks off.

"Will you really be okay with him in the same group?" Jacob ask, concerned. "Of course he will, he's not some kind of pussy right?" Joe says, interfering. "You better not bully him, or else." Cynthia says, sharply. "Or else what, you gonna slap me with you little purse?" He laughs, and walk off. "He's such an asshole." Mindy says, staring at him. "Thanks guys, but I'll be fine, I'm sure." You say, trying to sound confident.

At the punching bag, you use your elbow and try to strike it. "Your technique is wrong, here let me show you how it's done." Derick says, grabbing your arm. You feel him get close to you, until your back and his body starts touching as he directs your arm and elbow. "You're pretty fast, if you're able to strike first you have a chance in winning." He says, before walking away. You turn around, only to see Joe looking at you. Your eyes meet with his, and he turns back to his punching bag in a hurry.

"Break time!" Derick shouts. You run towards Jacob, who's all sweaty. You and him are soon approached by Mindy and Cynthia, both sweaty as well. "The chart says I have to fight with Jessica, and you have to fight with Don" Mindy says, sounding happy. "Why do you sound so happy, Jessica is quite tough." I ask, looking at her. "But I think Mindy is tougher, besides Jessica isn't as tough as you all think." Cynthia continues, and we walk towards the canteen.

"We still have some time left, do you guys want to go to the Mall?" Cynthia asks. The mall, like it's name implies, is place where people can shop for things. You can buy new clothes, get a tattoo and such.
