Night's Reach: Not the Flu
From Create Your Own Story
There . . . is so much I wish I could tell you. So many things have happened since the beginning, which I guess would be the best place to begin.
From the start they were calling it an advanced out break of the Flu. Which, was widely accepted. First signs of infection were very similar; fever, nausea, disorientation, and vomiting.
It quicky became apparent that this infection was more than reported. Very contagious and volatile, spreading quickly in larger cities. People infected began hemorrhaging, most commonly exhibited through their vomit. "Riots" shown on the news, soon after breaking out in the street, out side homes and at businesses as the infected began attacking anyone they could find. The vaccinces were not working and people were just getting sicker and sicker.
By the time the government tried to take control it was to late. The infection began to spread jumping from country to country. Any form of containment failed, the numbers of infected growing and the number of healthy . . . living people diminishing. A week after first infection the world seemed to just stop. People were being moved through check points like cattle. Some leaving messages for loved ones, warnings, accusations, others just trying to leave a sign that they had once been. The only thing left was the hope to survive, keep moving and hopefully they would not find you.
Survivors have reported that infection can spread through transferring bodily fluids via bites, eyes, mouth, blood, and any open wounds. All sense of time has left me, though I believe it to be almost 9 days since the outbreak began. I look out my window and see no one on the streets, no sounds of cars moving . . . no sign of life.
My name is Julie Hades . . . I was here.
