NMT: Talk to the officer

From Create Your Own Story

"Soldier! Soldier!" The officer calls out to you. As you approach him, you can clearly see the distress in his body language.

"You're special forces, right? We've got a dire situation here and I need your help!" He continues, clearly desperate.

"What's the problem?" You reply.

"One of my men let the fort's stock of medicine get stolen. If we don't get it back soon a lot of good soldiers will be leaving Ord Mantell in body bags. Sleepyhead says he only saw the back of the thief as she was making her escape. She looked like a Cathar, one of those feline looking aliens that live on nearby star systems. She probably lives in one of the refugee camps."

"Alright. I'll go check her out and see if I can produce this medicine of yours."

"Please hurry! Good soldiers' lives depend on that medicine!"

With that, you turn and make your way to the refugee camps. Nothing pisses you off like the thought of your fellow soldiers dying needlessly for someone else's wanton greed. It doesn't take you long before you find the culprit, as she is caring for a number of the orphans in the refugee camp. As she finishes consoling a child in pain, she turns toward you.

"Hi. I didn't see you there. Sorry, it's been crazy around here. What brings you to the camp?"

"Someone stole some medicine. I'm looking for the thief." You say abruptly, getting straight to business.

She curses under her breath before continuing. "Yeah I saw the sleeping guard, and I took the medicine too. No point in trying to hide it. I took it to help the refugees." She says as she gestures to the frail and sickly people around her.

"More of them are dying everyday and the Republic doesn't help. Unfortunately..." she says as she kicks the ground in anger. "... The Separatists took it from me. Now they have it and we don't. So here's the deal. You bring this medicine back to me so I can distribute it to the refugees, and I'll tell you where they went."

You've softened your attitude towards her, but giving her the medicine would be damning those soldiers to a painful death. That is not an option you could consciously take. Judging by her courage and conviction to help the refugees, its unlikely threatening her would change her mind, and you are not going to stoop as low to threaten the orphans she clearly cares for.
