MITM - Fingernails

You hold up one of the hands, and check all the fingernails. There does not appear to be any debris in there. You check the fingernails for the other hand. Same thing for this one. Either the murderer cleaned the fingernails, or this was a surprise attack, and the victim didn't have time to strike back at the attacker.
