"Not at all." You lie and let him in.
You blink as he crosses, drowning you in the stench of cigarettes. You're confident that Martin is the reason why Henry is such a mess. He does, however, take off his shoes, so he's not an absolute monster.
"So what are you here for?" You ask and close the door.
He shrugs. "Henry said he might come here so I thought I'd swing by and wait on him."
You purse your lips. "I see. Well, he isn't home yet."
"Yeah. Sucks, but, I'll have to wait for him."
You purse your lips. "Seems so."
You make small-talk, then use your grumbling stomach as an excuse to get away from him and fix yourself a plate of spam, sausage and macaroni. You slip into the dining room, leaving him in the living room by himself and eat, free of distraction. You enjoy the not-nutritious but delicious meal as best as you can, taking your time and savoring the flavors, then slipping back into the kitchen where you wash your plate and head back into the living room.
He's gone. You blink.
