“Let’s get her over here, instead,” Commander Smith said as he un-clipped the CommLink from his belt. He stretched out the retracting cord that secured it to the belt and held the pen-sized microphone to his lips. “Mister Moonwalker, this is the Captain. Come in.” When Moonwalker responded, Commander Smith asked, “What’s your location? I thought you would have been back by now.”
“Uh, yes sir,” Lieutenant Moonwalker’s voice came back. He sounded a bit rattled. Nervous. “We’re at the site and are leaving now.”
“Is everything alright?” the Ship’s Captain asked, looking a bit worried.
“Uh, Yes Sir,” the voice replied. “Just, uh, something came up. We’re headed back now.”
Commander Smith re-clipped the CommLink and looked at Professor Carter. The Captain hoped the delay was only caused by what he thought it was caused by. About twenty minutes later the four people from the Dig-Site came in and Lieutenant Moonwalker said, “Sorry for the delay, Captain. We, uh, sort of lost our bearings.”
“Your bearings?” Commander Smith repeated and glanced at the three men from his ship with a knowing look. Then, speaking directly to Able-Bodied Spaceman Forrest Ripley he said, “You and I need to talk.”
