You load your clothes into the washing machine, insert your money, and watch the machine do its work. You stare, bored, as it chugs and sloshes and clanks. Finally, your clothes are washed. You transfer them to a dryer and watch it work. After a seeming eternity, you have clean and dry clothes.
You lay your stuff out on the bench and go to work sorting and folding. You soon discover that you're missing a sock. You hate when that happens.
