You make your way to the forest before the duel begins, and Maara watches you. You fly through the tree line before any spells are cast, and look behind you, barely seeing her. You feel safe, here, and begin to plan your first fire spell. Anything she tries here will at least be weak to your fire-

Your foot is pulled sharply down, and you clear your broom entirely. You see a vine wrapped around your ankle and begin to make the hand signs for a fire spell, though your left arm is pulled back. Vines wrap themselves better up your legs and arm. You do a simple one handed fire spell with your right hand. You burn away the vines at your legs, then your left arm. As you do, the vines are wrapping to your right arm, so you do the same to it. The effect, you realize, is that you have been burning yourself, which would count quite negatively to your score, and you hate yourself for it. You also notice with all the fire, you burned away your shoes and thigh highs, as well as the sleeves to your own blouse. It is a hot day, so you do not mind too much, but you did not really want to show all this leg.

You look up through the leaves and see her still looking at you. For her to control these plants, she has to have line of sight, but this forest idea may not have been the best. You could leave back up to the air, away from the ground with your broom beside you, to continue the fight, or you could hide. If she can't see you, she can't catch you.
