You storm back to your car, hop in, and take off down the road before Joe can say anything else. You head back towards town, and start thinking about what to do when you get back.
Your thoughts are interrupted by a loud banging noise, followed by your engine seizing up. You coast to the side of the road, and turn your hazards on. You pull out your cell phone to call your mechanic, only to find you have no cell service here. Cursing your luck, you consider your options.
There's a gas station about three-quarters of a mile up the road. You could walk there, and see about getting help, or making a phone call to your mechanic. There's always hitchhiking, too. Or you could pop the hood, and see if it's something you could fix here.
