Lead them on a wild goose chase

You don't know what these guards want, or what they'll do once you reach your village, so you decide the best course of action is to lead them astray. The best way to do this is to go through the swamp. Thick in fog and mist, it's easy for anyone who doesn't know the way by smell to get lost forever. Only an orc knows their way through, as they are taught early in life how to navigate it. From what you know about it, it has saved countless orcs from ambushes and attacks, and this time will be no different. Besides, it's not that far out of the way, and you should be able to reach home by nightfall.
Once you enter the mist, Emera tightly clenches your arm, clearly nervous. But you smile and gently pat her hand reassuringly. "Trust me." you whisper to her.
With a simple nod, Emera confirms her trust in you, but still clenches you tightly.
"Where are we going, orc? Do you know what this place is?" Granddad asks.
"Of course I do. This is the way to my village."
"Is there another path we might take? I've heard tales of this area." he asks, clearly more worried about his men loosing you than of any danger.
"No, this is the only way. If we took another road, we'd be traveling for months. This way, it'll only be a day's walk."
Granddad jumps out of the cart, and walks up beside you. "I must insist we take another rout."
"Why? Are you afraid?"
Granddad gasps, and anger quickly fills his eyes. "This is the second time you've asked me that."
"Then what's the problem?" you ask, masking your amusement as best you can.
"I fear not for myself, but of the company we travel with. What if we become lost forever in here?"
You shake your head confidently. "You wont. So long as you stick close to me, and we stay on the path."
"Path?" he asks as he looks down at his feet. "I see no path, orc."
You tap your forehead. "The path that's up here. The one I memorized as a child."
Grandad becomes quiet and returns to his seat in the cart.
