Lay off on the compliments for now and greet yourself.

You decide to hold back any more compliments due to the risk of sounding like a flatterer, greeting yourself instead.

"I just transferred to this school...nice to meet you," you introduce, sticking your hand out to shake.

Amelia looks up at you, accepting the handshake. "Nice to meet you! You're the new human student, right?"

You nod. "That'd be me."

She smiles softly at you. "I'm Amelia, head of the track team."

"Nice to meet you, too!" you return. You decide to sit down beside her, which she doesn't object to. "How long have you been running for?"

"Years, now," she replies. "It's been my passion since elementary school. I love other sports, too...but this one is special to me."

She blinks, before blushing softly at you. "Sorry, that was kinda awkward of me to say..."

You shrug. "That's fine. I can understand being passionate towards something."

She tilts her head at you. "Really? What's your passion? I-if you don't mind me asking, of course..."
