Keep walking to find the end of the forest

You and Chad decide to keep walking until you reach the end of the forest. However, it seems that the path goes on until eternity.
You see the sun setting from the far distance between the two small hills, the color of the sky a distant red. It is very beautiful, you think. But you’re still stuck in the forest.
The forest gets a little darker, and you hear rustling nearby. You both exchange looks and freeze, hoping that it would not see you.
Then the figure emerges. A man?
“You there,” says he. “Have you seen a tall man with fair hair running through the forest?”
“No sir,” you reply, and then notice that he has a familiar face. You think you’ve seen him on TV before. “John Sky?”
“Yes, that would be me,” the man says, scratching his head. “Tell me, where is the closest civilization?”
“Why, that would be our town… the Town of Barrhead, sir,” your friend chimes in. “We would like to show you, but we do not know where it is. You see, we got a little lost.”
“Lost? There’s no such thing,” Sky waves his finger. “Come on, I’ll help you two find it.”
