You and your group move as quietly and stealthily as possible towards the spot you saw -- or, thought you saw -- the movement.
You get a couple more fleeting glimpses of what might be something, but never enough to be sure.
It's just about impossible to maintain your triangle formation in the jungle itself, but you do make an effort. Damien is about two steps away from you and Shania.
There's a sudden gasp and then a heavy thud. Damien's body falls to the ground, his neck broken.
You and Shania quickly glance around, but can't see who did it.
