You jump off the cliff, still thinking that this is like the television show, that you will land safely in the water because of your alignment towards being the good guy. Unfortunately, Digimon is an animé grounded on reality - or at least more aspects of reality than most animé - thus making its world quite like ours. That means if you jump off a cliff, chances are you will hit some of the sharp rocks below.
Well, guess what? Your chances are not good. Your face plummets onto the edge of some cone-shaped stones at the base and you die.
