You are Joseph Frost, an ex-S.T.A.R.S member. After S.T.A.R.S. was disbanded you tried to get back into law enforcment but weren't allowed. Since then you have been working at a garage, fixing cars. It worked out okay the first weeks but then the dreams came. They were filled with the agonizing screams of your dying teammates and the sight of the undead reaching out towards you with their rotting hands. In an attempt to fight the dreams, you started to drink and tried to drown the dreams in an alcoholic haze. This led you down the road towards alcoholism. It went so far that you were fired from the garage after you came drunk to work and got into an fight with your boss and nearly killed him. After that you have been drifting around town from bar to bar. But then, the signs started to show up again. Rampaging psycopaths, canibals and strange creatures preyed on people in the night. You immediatly realized what it was and after a week of agonizing rehab, you pulled yourself together again and prepared youreself for what was to come. You stocked up on weapons and ammunition and read books about homemade explosives (you know from experience you're gonna need that). And then, the 23rd of September came. It all went offical, the virus had reached the city and the victims of the so called ¨cannibal diese¨ were, in fact, zombies. The chaos broke out immediatly and the mayor declared martial law and gave the military absolute athority which they used to put the entire city in quarantine.
This didn't prevent many from trying to escape from the city of course since it's an part of the human nature to escape from disasters such as this, unfortunatly there it was almost 100% of the ones who tried to escape either died or was captured and the ones who made it was usally heavyilly wounded and usally died becuse of their wounds. So after an while the majority of the citisens gave up on trying to escape the city and focused on pure survival instead. Since the police was focused on fighting the zombies there were no one left to keep order in the remaning human parts of the city there were no one to keep check on the survivors which in turn lead to complete and utterly anarcy. Most people didn't notice it but you, the police and some other people knew that this, was the end of Raccon City...
Six days has passed since the 23rd or as it is known on the streets ¨The big 23¨. You have spent almost every waken moment preapering you for today becuse it is today you got to decide whevener you are gonna run or fight. The remaning police force and U.B.C.S. members has set up an giant road block on Main street in an attempt to stop the undead horde once and for all. You can either join them and try to stop the horde or you can just try to get out of town, that's basicly the only two options you got. You load your ammouniton and your molotov coctails into your backpack, put your M92F in it's holster and grab your shotgun. It's time for your last great journey...
