Investigate the house

You need water, shade, and rest, and you need it now. You know your body well enough to know what it needs, and it's not a good idea to disregard the warning signs.
You approach the small, lone house cautiously, your Browning pistol in a tight two-handed grip. At least this house is by itself. There shouldn't be too many people to deal with, if there are any at all.
You knock on the front door, waiting for at least a minute. No response. You try the knob. Locked. Stepping back, you lash out with your booted foot. Your powerful high kick takes the door down easily. Heading inside, gun at the ready, you quickly check all the rooms. No one is there.
In the kitchen, you help yourself to some water from a bottle and fruit and bread from the refrigerator. You rest inside the cool house for a while, waiting for your strength to come back. Your weapon is constantly in your hand.
When you feel ready, you gather up some food and water for the road, then head outside and
