You step in between the boys and the girls, dodging flying elbows and fists. "Everyone stop!" you say. "Rebecca's down! She looks hurt."

The combatants freeze in place and look around. Eventually, Christine spots Rebecca on the floor of the bus, grimacing in pain.

"Are you all right?" Christine asks Rebecca. She shakes her head.

Melony and you reach down and help Rebecca to her feet. She doesn't have any cuts, but she looks like she'll have a nasty bruise on her face.

• Lie Rebecca where you two were sitting and stand for the rest of the way to school
• Ask the girls and boys to make peace with each other
• Ask Christine why she got so angry
