You and Seven both agreed on letting Seven lead the way. This way, you will have more time to find a connection between you and your party member. Diavel agrees with your decision. You and your party member will be the ones who protect the group from behind, just in case enemies will appear and try to slay the Assault Team from a blind spot. It's unlikely that this will happen, but you're not willing to take a risk. There is still one problem though: Where is your party member?
2 hours later
The Assault Team has departed for the Boss Room. You hope that everyone is prepared enough to defeat the boss. You're pretty sure that most of these people are a much lower level than you. Since you're level 20 and aren't able to level up properly, you assume that most people would be around level 12. In the meantime, your party member appeared once the Assault Team was about to leave Tolbana. There is still one problem though, and that is the fact that you still don't know her name. While you were in thought, she asked you something.
- ???: I know what you're thinking. Would these people be able to defeat the boss?
- You: You read my mind exactly. And yeah, I wonder if they can do that.
She seems to doubt the people in front of you as well. They don't seem strong, but not very weak either. Based on her silence, you think she's also kind of anxious the Assault Team won't be able to pull off the first boss fight and that people actually may die.
- You: But don't worry. We will manage somehow. Besides, if you've got a teleportation crystal you can get to safety in no time!
- ???: I don't have a teleportation crystal though.
- You: Don't worry. If things go south, I'll give you mine!
She seems glad to hear that. Although this means that if the girl escapes, you won't have a teleportation crystal yourself. You don't think you'll be in much danger though, since your level is pretty high. In the distance, you can see Kirito walk towards you and your party member.
Kirito: Hey Razore and... sorry I don't know what your name is.
You look at her direction. Now that you are curious as well, you await a reaction from her. After a few seconds, she seems to give away her name.
- Asuna: My name is Asuna. But don't spread it around please.
- Kirito: Of course. Anyway, how are the two of you holding up?
- You: It's going well between us. But, look around you Kirito. Do you have confidence in these people?
Kirito looks around him. He understands well what bothers you, and Asuna as well.
- Kirito: I know what you mean. Low-armored, poor weapons and they appear to have low confidence themselves. But appearances can be deceiving. Who knows how well they are able to fight when things are about to get real, right?
That is not entirely true. You realize that quick enough, and so does Asuna. It is true that combat in this game is more 'open' than in other VR games, but that doesn't mean that 'numbers' don't count anymore. You know why Kirito gives you that explanation though. He wants the both of you to stay confident. For that, you appreciate his help. Shortly after, Diavel shouts something you can barely hear from this big distance.
Diavel: Okay everyone, we are here!
And right he was. The group is standing in the forest, in front of the Tower entrance that will lead to the Boss Room...
