You open your jaws and a stream of color comes forth. The eyes quickly move to the side, dodging away.
From the light of the Aurora Beam, you get a glimpse of a dark body.
You wait in the dark for a few minutes, senses outstretched wide open for anything.
It seems that was your mistake.
You feel something squeeze your opened mind, and you’re sure that if you were a regular mortal, you’d be dead.
The figure leaps from the dark, claws outstretched, and as you stumble out of the way, you finally get a glance at your foe.
It looks like a Persian, though it’s like no Persian you’ve ever seen. Of course, it’s not like you’ve had a chance to see any, but you know what they’re supposed to look like, and this one looks absolutely nothing like it should.
Instead of having creamy-colored fur, it’s completely black, with little puffs of darkness spewing from its flanks every so often, like smoke. Its whiskers look charred, and the gem on its forehead is dark purple and cracked.
You open your mouth to fire another Beam, but whatever-it-is squeezes your mind again, inducing a pounding headache with it.
The Persian launches itself at you and successfully scratches your side in rapid succession. You manage to find the strength to back off from its Fury Swipes, but it leaps again at you…
