Struck by the obvious, Dax decided to look in her own quarters for her missing clothing. She climbed naked through the Jefferies tubes until she came to her quarters.
Sure enough, her uniform was lying on her sofa, however, on closer examination it was in pieces from when someone must have cut it off, explaining a small cut on her chest.
Then Dax remembered that when Ensign Rodriguez had "stayed over" a few weeks before, she had forgotten to take her uniform. Jadzia searched through her closet until she found the blue medical/scientist Starfleet uniform, reattaching the pins from her old one.
When Dax put it on, she hoped that she wouldn't run into Ensign Rodriguez who might demand her uniform.
Dax didn't think it was worth it to go back to the cargo bay, she didn't find anything on her repeated scan and it delayed her by more than a day. She only had to think of where to investigate next.
