Her existential crisis

From Create Your Own Story

"So, you're feeling philosophical, huh?"

"Not sure I'd call it that, but maybe you're right."

"Have you ever wondered something like... What is our greater purpose? Because sometimes..." I sigh to sound dramatic. "I feel like my existence is nothing more than a collection of codes in a computer simulation."

"That's insane, but sometimes I think about things like that too. It's like there's a greater power controlling all of us." Brie then contemplates the existence of aliens until it's time for her to go home.

When I return to my apartment that afternoon, Darren is already there, waiting for me. "I've been wondering when you'd show up."

"I'm not a prisoner here."

"You're right. Forgive me."

Wow, a genuine apology? He must have something serious on his mind.

"It's time to take your education to the next level. I've been thinking long and hard on how to prepare you for some of the more challenging aspects of this job. And I realized it's time to take your training beyond this apartment." He speaks in an assertive tone while placing his drink back on the coffee table. "I hope you're ready for this."

"What do you mean? Ready for what?"

"I would've told you if you hadn't interrupted me. For today's lesson, you have a task to do." Darren pauses, and I bite my lip in anticipation. "Dress like a prostitute and go to the supermarket."

"What?!"

Darren wants me to go out dressed like a prostitute...
