Help the man by catching the girl.

Deciding that the girl must have done something wrong you stop her as she tries to run down the path. She struggles to get away from you but you hold on with a firm grasp and wait for the man to catch up. As soon as the man reaches you he slaps the girl in the face.
The man peers at you and says with and angry face, "I could have caught her myself, but take this for you trouble."
Without even the slightest smile the man removes a pendant from around his neck and tosses it to you. Grabbing the girl by the arm he quickly drags her back up the path. As they leave view you can just see that the girl is crying. You study the pendant but cannot find any value in it.
