You shift into James just long enough to unleash his beast. You shift back and watch him transform into a huge, furry engine of destruction.
Jack fires his gun into him, but the attack does not even wound the werewolf, and in the next instant, the creature is over him.
Faster than you can register, Jack is on the floor, bleeding from superficial claw wounds in his chest, and James is poised to snap his neck in his powerful jaws.
Before he can do so, you put a hand on his shoulder. He looks at you, waiting for your command.
You realize that Candy has passed out.
